Sports & remedial massage

SE9 Pilates offers sports & remedial massage to suit everyone– from sporting professionals, to fitness fiends and those new to sports or fitness, as well as those who are looking for massage relief from pain and injury. This includes those who are struggling with body issues due to inactivity through a sedentary desk job or a medical condition which restricts physical activity.

Our professional Sports & Remedial Massage focuses on the stress on joints and those deep soft tissues – muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and blood vessels – which struggle when the body is burdened with tension and stress from too much or too little activity.

Chia

My name is Chia, and I am a qualified Holistic Massage Therapist with a passion for bodywork. I was taught by a wonderful Osteopath, Dror Steiner who provided me with valuable techniques and insights into the human body and its musculoskeletal system.

Holistic massage is a remedial approach that considers the whole person, addressing physical, emotional, and at times spiritual aspects. By harmonizing mind and body, it promotes relaxation, reduces stress, improves circulation, and enhances overall well-being. My path towards becoming a holistic massage therapist was profoundly influenced by my upbringing in Bali, which enriched my understanding of healing massage.

A pivotal moment occurred when my father, a Thai Monk whom I had reunited with back in 2015 after 25+ years, asked me to massage his back to ease the excruciating pain he felt from his illness—despite the cultural restrictions that prohibited women from touching Monks.

That was the last time I saw him, as he passed away three weeks later in Thailand.

A few weeks later, during the birth of my dearest friend's first child, I intuitively used a vibration technique to massage her lower back during labor. For over ten hours, I applied this technique throughout every contraction, providing her with the only respite she found from the intense pain.

Through these moments and others along the way, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact of massage and solidified my belief in the power of touch.
